Your Freshwater Aquarium Fish Source

Freshwater aquarium fish are beautiful, relaxing, and fun to learn about.  No matter how long you have been in this hobby, there is always something new to learn and try out.   One of the biggest problems is always wanting more fish!

  This site has some very important goals:    

• To show you how to create a happy healthy environment for your freshwater aquarium fish that is much like Mother nature.

• To show you how to NOT spend money on needless equipment and medication, that the fish store employee WILL try to sell you.  This way you have MORE money to spend on FISH.
• To be a guide, or a “Bible” you can refer back to no matter how experienced you become.
• To be a source of reference for all the information and products you will ever need on the Internet.  

You are about to learn how to keep your freshwater aquarium fish home happy and healthy, as if they lived in their natural environment.  Hopefully you will come away from this site with a skeptical attitude when walking into a fish store.  The products are on the shelves, but that does not mean you have to buy them!  There are knowledgeable fish store employees, but many of them are repeating something they have read or heard without any real understanding.

Some of the advice in this site is new and fresh, and some has been around for decades.  All of it is based on deep research and understanding of freshwater fish and their natural habitat.

If you are a beginner, this is a great place to start.  If you are an experienced fishkeeper, you may find some advice that contradicts what you once believed.  Please keep an open mind, as the principles in this site are tried and tested, with amazing results.  

There's a lot to care of freshwater aquarium fish, if you want to do it right, which you do if you're reading this. The biggest challenge of fishkeeping, is that we have to create the environment the fish live in. Heaven knows having a dog or a cat or a bird can be tricky, but we don't have to manufacture air for the pets or create gravity... But we have to maintain the watery world our fish live in.

It is a truly great hobby to keep any kind of pet, and freshwater fish offer so many great things to someone who is willing to learn. Never give up, and great rewards await you once you've got the basics down.
